Rumors of a re-release of the Viaje TNT have been heard…

The Viaje TNT was a M-80 of a cigar, no pun intended, that was released on the 4th of July. Its original shape was trademarked by the extremely long tail left on the cigar that resembled a long fuse from your favorite holiday explosives. The cigar was sold in crates that resembled wooden ammunition boxes. I have recently heard whispers that Andre will be releasing a new shape and size of the TNT that uses the same, magnificent blend of the original. Make sure to check in to the Good Fellas’ website to stay up to date on these rumors. Also remember to follow us on Twitter ( @goodfellascigar ) for more updates on whats happening in the awesome world of cigars.

Brickhouse has announced another shape for its bargain cigar line…

The Brickhouse cigar brand has taken the cigar community by storm in the recent months; not only are they extremely affordable, they also received No. 17 cigar of the year by Cigar Aficionado. With a majority of their line being priced under $9 ( in the highly taxed state of Minnesota) these are smokes that you can not only enjoy, but your wallet can enjoy them as well. J.C. Newman Cigar Co. will be unveiling the Brick House Short Torp, which is a 51/2 x 52 mini pyramid, at the International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers (IPCPR) trade show. Once these bad boys hit the shelves, bargain shoppers will have a gem of a cigar to be proud of again.

Viaje Zombie

by GoodFellasCigars

Wrapper: Nicaragua

Binder: Nicaragua

Filler: Nicaragua

Country: Honduras

Factory: Raices Cubanas

Size: 4 3/4 x 52

After the fall out Viaje MOB and WMD, zombies were birthed from all those in range across the country. Andre Farkes the scientist created the Viaje Zombie to compliment the Mother of All Bombs and the Weapon of Mass Destruction. After smoking the WOB and WMD one feels exactly like a zombie and thus comes the name sake of this cigar. There is no doubting that the Viaje Zombie, it does live up to its name.

This cigar has a pronounced espresso and chocolate flavors with a slight hint of spice and an even slighter hint of vanilla throughout. The construction is superb and had a very enjoyable draw that completely opens up a third of the way through with beautiful light blue smoke. The cigar had noticeably veined and oily wrapper that complemented the zombie fall out theme. The level of body was very full from start to finish and had a dark gray ash but, was not as strong as the MOB and WMD that has transformed many into the proverbial zombies. The first third of the Viaje Zombie was consistent with espresso and chocolate flavors with hints of spice and vanilla. The second third adds complexity to the Zombies flavor portfolio by adding a sweetness and pink pepper flavors while still maintaining the main flavors and tones. The final third just hits complexity out of the park by making stunning intricate flavor portfolio by further adding caramelized chocolate and lite wheat tones. The overall burn was just as perfect too with maybe a single touch up needed if wanted. Over all the Viaje Zombie struck an excellent  balance between strength and flavor. The Zombie was a very strong cigar yet did not in the leas skimp out on what was a fantastic flavorful experience.

Viaje Plantino Reserve Double Torpedo (VPR DT)

by GoodFellasCigars

Wrapper: Nicaraguan

Binder: Nicaraguan

Filler: Nicaraguan

Country: Honduras

Size: 5 3/4 x 52

If you ever had the chance to try the 2010 Viaje Platino Reserva no. 6 you will remember how amazing of a cigar it truly was. I am also guessing that you were just as sad as I was when they ran out; well guess what, they are back in a double torpedo shape. Right away you will get a smooth, creamy sweetness on the initial lighting that lets you know that you have found a gem. Throughout the entire smoke the burn stayed tight and the ash held on strong. Once I finished the first third the cigar it began to develop into a nice medium bodied, spicier smoke. I began to notice a slight bitterness that really created a perfect flavor profile that was complemented with a slight nuttiness. In the final third of the VPR DT a nice woody flavor began to come into play that reminded me of sitting around a campfire. These flavors lasted throughout the rest of the smoke and stayed throughout the long finish. This is one of the cigars that you do not want to put down and when you have to, you become depressed; the only cure would be to have another. If Andre is putting out cigars like this, I cant imagine how excellent the Viaje Zombie is going to be like. Make sure to get your hands on a box of the VPR DT’s as well as the Zombies, I know you wont be disappointed. Here is the link on how to get your hands on these wonderful cigars but, hurry before they are gone! —-> Click Me!
