Julius Caeser (J.C.) Newman immigrated to the United States in 1888 and lived the American Dream. In 1895, he founded the J.C. Newman Cigar Company, which today is America’s oldest family owned premium cigar maker. One of J.C. Newman’s earliest brands was Brick House. With the imposing brick house featured prominently in the label, J.C. Launched this brand to honor his family heritage and his beloved childhood memories. The vintage Brick House cigar label depicts the pastoral setting similar to J.C. Newman’s childhood home – the only brick house in his village. Not only did J.C. Newman’s brick house serve as the family’s residence, but it was also the town’s tavern. There, locals and visitors alike gathered nightly to eat, drink, smoke, and enjoy each other’s company.
The original Brick House cigars were Cuban puros, handmade with the finest Havana tobaccos. Third-generation cigar makers, Eric and Bobby Newman, have recreated this vintage cigar brand by blending specially aged Nicaraguan tobaccos with hearty Havana Subido wrapper leaves to match the rich, well-balanced flavor of their grandfather’s Brick House cigars. Handmade in Nicaragua, these flavorful cigars are designed to be enjoyed and shared with friends – just like J.C.’s friends and family would would done 150 years ago in the original brick house.
