Arsenio Ramos, one of the most highly regarded blenders from the Cuban cigar era, has been come out with a new blend in the Casa Fernandez line. Casa Fernandez has brought back the traditional lancero size of 71/2 x 40 instead of the more recently used 71/2 x 38. Right off the bat you notice the beautiful wrapper on this cigar. You will also notice an ever so inviting aroma that causes you to forget all other cigars. On the initial light up there was a very nice amount of smoke with notes of pepper, cedar, as well a slight chocolaty taste. The burn on this cigar was slow and stayed extremely sharp, I did not have to fix this cigar once in the hour and a half it took to smoke it. Once I got into the halfway mark i began to pick up on a strong note of hickory while the chocolate began to become more prominent as well. These flavors stayed consistent throughout the rest of the cigar which left me extremely pleased with the overall cigar. This is one of those cigars you just can not only have just one, if you see these in your local cigar shop make sure to pick at least one up, I know I will be having another one soon.
