Arturo Fuente Queen B Torpedo

by GoodFellasCigars

Wrapper: Sungrown Colorado Maduro

Binder: Dominican

Filler: Dominican

Shape: Torpedo

Size: 5 1/2 x 51

Country: Dominican Republic

Right off the bat, the Queen B gives off a perfect draw with a slightly creamy note. After the initial lighting the spice that we’ve all come to love from the Arturo Fuente’s comes into play along with a slight chocolaty note. The burn remains tight as the flavors begin to develop into a complex cigar. It becomes a more earthy and chocolaty cigar than a spicy cigar once past the initial light. Once into the second third of the smoke I began to notice a slight cedar note along with the earthiness becoming more prominent. I had also picked up on a small amount of a tobacco note that really filled out the flavor profiles of this cigar. Once into the final third of this cigar, spice became one of the more prominent factors of the cigar, it was not overpowering, but it was definitely there. These flavors remained through the rest of the smoke until I finally ended it. Overall I enjoyed this smoke and I feel like it goes far to unnoticed compared to the other Arturo’s such as the Opus X, Hemmingways, or the Anejo’s. Next time you are in your local cigar shop I highly recommend picking one of these up to give these Fuente’s a try.

Oliva Serie O

by GoodFellasCigars

Wrapper: Nicaraguan

Binder: Nicaraguan

Filler: Nicaraguan

Country: Nicaragua

The Oliva Serie O is a unique tasting medium to full-bodied cigar with high ratings designed for someone with a seasoned palate. The aroma of this cigar makes the nose give it a fuzzy feeling and along with that is an excellent, well-rounded body that comes from the Cuban-seed habano tobaccos of northern Nicaragua. The tobaccos are aged for five full years which gives the Oliva Serie O it’s distinct, complex, and hearty flavor that is always smooth and never overwhelming. The initial draw was excellent and the first flavor was an earthy tobacco taste. First third of the smoke had tastes of cedar with a very smooth pepper that tingled the palate with a hint of cinnamon aftertaste. As I went through the second third of the cigar a note of dark coffee came into play which was a nice addition to the flavors in the first third of the smoke. As for the finish the coffee still remained and then the pepper mellowed out a bit with the sweetness and cedar remaining giving off a mocha type flavor but, not quite mocha. For the overall burn it was pretty much flawless for maybe one touch up. I recommend this cigar if your a seasoned smoker and love an excellent well-rounded cigar because this definitely won’t disappoint.
