Wrapper: Ecuadoran Havana-Seed Criollo
Filler: Dominican, Honduran and Nicaraguan
Binder: Connecticut Broadleaf
The Exile is a medium to full-bodied smoke from Esteli, Nicaragua handmade by Omar Ortez. It has a Ecuadorian wrapper that tightly packs a Connecticut binder and Dominican, Nicaraguan, and Honduran fillers. It has a torpedo shape with quite a few veins with the initial draw that took some effort. The initial flavors was a light tobacco with a mixed berry sweetness. Overall the burn was slow with not that much smoke produced and the ash was loose throughout. The first third had a jagged burn with a mild earth tone and a sweet raisin flavor that complimented the earth well. As the the second third of the cigar approached the raisin went away and a spice came in along with a dry almond flavor. As for the finish the almond and spice combined making a peppery almond taste and it became harsher the farther you go down. This was an alright smoke if you want something that doesn’t produced too much smoke and like a little bit of a nutty spice flavor with some initial sweetness.
