What is the first word that comes to mind when you hear the words Padrón: quality, excellence, luxury? Several others come to mind and they all describe Padrón especially the Serie 1926 80 Years Maduro. The Serie 1926 line celebrates the company’s founder and patriarch birth date and his 80^th birthday and to honor this, the cigar is made with some of the company’s oldest aged leaf. The Padrón was silky smooth to the touch with a high sheen and some give when pressing in on it . This cigar’s initial draw was perfect with the flavor of roasted nuts. The first third had strong tones of nuts and cocoa with a very subtle pepper taste. The burn was even due to skillful construction and its figurado size. The second third had some molasses with nuts most present and near the end the flavors intensified but, did not become overly strong. The smoke was thick and creamy at this point. Also experienced near the end of the second third was an orange peal flavor. Once at the finish the most strong flavors such as the roasted nut tamed down and the sweet orange peal and spice making a perfect combo took over as the main flavors. To sum up the complex flavors stayed constant throughout and never became harsh. Over all this is a wonderfully delicious cigar is a sure winner which all of you need to get your hands on. If I could I would smoke the Padrón Serie 1926 80 Years Maduro every day for the rest of my life.
