Looking for something thats affordable but, compares to a slightly mid range pricey stick? Well, the mild Rocky Patel Connecticut might be the cigar for you. This cigar is firm to the touch and the pre-light draw is very smooth and a tad airy. The wrapper had a small amount of light veins upon it and had a great make-up that made for a great look on the cigar. Pre-light flavor was a smooth cedar with very mild tobacco. The initial draw had a great amount of smoke that gave a nice aroma of light tobacco and I got flavors of almond and a toasty flavor like ground up coffee beans. The first third had the initial light flavors along with a mild earth tone and just before transfering into the second third the smoke becomes more creamy and voluminous in the amount given off. The second third the cedar and earth almost completely vanished but, the warm, toasty flavor was still there with a mild tobacco flavor. A slight pepper peaked in a went away and as for the burn it was flawless with no touch ups needed. The last third and finish remained the same as before with the nuttiness coming back a bit and I saw stop just under the 1/4th mark unless you like a harsh taste in your smoke. The ash throughout the smoke was firm and could remain up to an inch without falling off. Overall this cigar is for someone looking for a decently cheap stick with mild in flavor and complexity. Also one that enjoys a nice, simple Connecticut wrapper smoke that is a everyday stick I consider.
