by GoodFellasCigars

Wrapper: Honduran

Binder: Costa Rican

Filler: Honduran, Costa Rican, and Mexican

Country: Honduras

If your looking for a great everyday medium-bodied smoke look no farther because the Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 Silver Edition is what you will want. These cigars were name after the Exodus of Cuban families the Toranos were a part of in 1959 during Castro’s Regime. The wrapper was dark and oily with very low amounts of veins with great construction. The draw was smooth and the initials flavors were of nutty tones, earth, and kinda grassy. The burn was even all the way through this stick. The ash was gray and somewhat loose with this one. This cigar had a complex flavor profile that never got harsh. The flavors most prominent throughout were the nuts and rich tobacco. Other notes that were present during the smoke were a spice and sweet blend of pepper, cocoa, and coffee. Overall this is a recommend smoke if your looking for something thats a great everyday smoke thats not overwhelming.

Oliva Serie O

by GoodFellasCigars

Wrapper: Nicaraguan

Binder: Nicaraguan

Filler: Nicaraguan

Country: Nicaragua

The Oliva Serie O is a unique tasting medium to full-bodied cigar with high ratings designed for someone with a seasoned palate. The aroma of this cigar makes the nose give it a fuzzy feeling and along with that is an excellent, well-rounded body that comes from the Cuban-seed habano tobaccos of northern Nicaragua. The tobaccos are aged for five full years which gives the Oliva Serie O it’s distinct, complex, and hearty flavor that is always smooth and never overwhelming. The initial draw was excellent and the first flavor was an earthy tobacco taste. First third of the smoke had tastes of cedar with a very smooth pepper that tingled the palate with a hint of cinnamon aftertaste. As I went through the second third of the cigar a note of dark coffee came into play which was a nice addition to the flavors in the first third of the smoke. As for the finish the coffee still remained and then the pepper mellowed out a bit with the sweetness and cedar remaining giving off a mocha type flavor but, not quite mocha. For the overall burn it was pretty much flawless for maybe one touch up. I recommend this cigar if your a seasoned smoker and love an excellent well-rounded cigar because this definitely won’t disappoint.

Marco V Platinum Label Grand Reserve

by GoodFellasCigars

Wrapper: Rare Arapiraca, Brazilian Maduro

Binder: De Olor, Dominican

Filler: Piloto Cubano from the Cibao Valley, Dominican Republic and Esteli, Nicaraguan Ligero

Size: 60 x 5″ V. Gigante

Country: Dominican Republic

Factory: Contracted by a tiny factory in the Dominican Republic

If you like the large NUB cigars then then you will be a fan of this monster.  With a ring gauge of 60 (1 in in diameter) it could be a lot to handle unlike the NUB cigars which do have large ring gauges but have a relatively small length.  But, if you are up to the task of handling a cigar size usually seen in the movies you must give the Marco V Platinum Label Grand Reserve a try. A definite plus with a cigar of this size is that it burns relatively cool and produces a copious amount of white smoke. The flavors of this medium bodied cigar compose of hints of coffee, a well-rounded sweet tobacco, and what may be very light cherry taste through the first half of the cigar. Making the transition to the second half, the flavors switched to add spice notes.  Overall this cigar is predominantly sweet containing a pleasing blend flavors that does not disappoint.

Viaje Satori Zen

by GoodFellasCigars

Wrapper: Nicaraguan

Filler: Nicaraguan

Binder: Nicaraguan Oscuro

Size: Perfecto Box-press 6 3/4 x 52

Country: Honduras

The Viaje Satori Zen is a box press lighter than air beauty. This cigar is very light bodied but has a very present sweet flavor. The draw was very easy through out, producing large plumes of smoke. The level of body steadily became stronger but was still quite light. If you like cigars on the lighter side the Viaje Satori Zen is the cigar for you and, even if you like cigars on the stronger side this is also the cigar for you.  While being light it does not lack meaningful flavor, it is sweet and complex with flavors of slight sugar and high quality cigar tobacco. The sugary sweet flavor balanced with a superior tobacco hints makes it a crowd pleaser. Rated 93 one could say this is cigar candy.
