Well folks we here at Good Fellas finally got around to it. The is the first cigar for our monthly Cigar of the Month so, check back each month and check out what we here at Good Fellas are really enjoying. The first cigar we chose was the Brick House Short Torpedo. This new shape for the Brick House was debuted at IPCPR 2011 this year in Las Vegas, Nevada. We all here thoroughly enjoyed the new look for the Brick House. The review we give you was done by all of us here at Good Fellas and we all experienced mostly the same experience which was fantastic! The only thing that varied was a burn here and there. The construction was pretty much flawless. Tight pack with a little give to the touch, pretty much no noticeable veins on the stick, and we used a straight cut on this stick for maximal draw. The initial draw was woody with a pink type pepper that tingled the tongue a bit. The smoke was thick and voluminous, with a cedar spice aroma, and the draw was smooth with minimal resistance. Which some may have more if they chose a v-cut. Going through the first third we experienced a slight sweetness of rich tobacco with a perfect blend of cedar spice. It had a creamy and cocoa undertone aswell. The profile at this point was blended really well and just before entering the second third a nutty cream begins to rise like an almond. The burn was slightly jagged but, nothing too off. The ash was white and very firm and this is the kind of stick you can set down for quite some time without it going out. So for the most part a very relaxing steady smoke. The second third the cedar spice plays a larger prominent role along with playing tag with the almond. The nut flavor becomes a tad more dry and the burn evens back out and remains constant through the rest of the cigar with only one of us having burn issues. Just before the final third the nut becomes the most prominent flavor in the profile and earthy tone arises. Proceeding through the final third the spice goes back up with the nut and woody kinda earth being the main thing in this profile. The ash is more grey with blackness peppered in at this point too we noted. As for the finish it is the same as the final third of this stick needless to say it was amazing! We here at Good Fellas are very pleased with our first Cigar of the Month, the BrickHouse Short Torpedo. We decided on this stick because we really enjoyed the Brick House Robusto and were looking forward to this new shape. Go out and try your best to get your hands on one of these because you will not be disappointed!

Punch Uppercut Grand Corona

by GoodFellasCigars

Wrapper: Ecuadorian Sumatra

Binder: Nicaragua

Filler: Ometepe Nicaraguan

Country: Honduras

Size: 6. x 45

Shape: Grand Corona

The Punch Uppercut blend was created after Punch employees read through hundreds of surveys of “favorite” flavor profiles in cigars. After narrowing it down to the most popular flavors, Punch went to work on creating this exquisite cigar. First and foremost this cigar is a very reasonably priced cigar which is why it caught my eye. After the initial light I instantly began to pick up on a slight sweetness as well as notes of coffee. The burn remained extremely consistent throughout the entire smoke. Once the second third came I began to notice a spice that was somewhat sweet in a way, the finish was very long with a nice tobacco flavor. As I reached the final third of the cigar I began to hope that it didnt become bitter like so many cigars do. The Uppercut was far from turning bitter; it remained sweet and savory all the way until the end without ever needing a touch up on the edges or any flaws in the wrapper. If you happen to see one of these on the shelves in your local shop, make sure to pick one up, or a whole box. I will definitely continue to smoke these cigars.

Cigar News for the Week of 4/24/2011 – 4/29/2011

by GoodFellasCigars

Rumors of a re-release of the Viaje TNT have been heard…

The Viaje TNT was a M-80 of a cigar, no pun intended, that was released on the 4th of July. Its original shape was trademarked by the extremely long tail left on the cigar that resembled a long fuse from your favorite holiday explosives. The cigar was sold in crates that resembled wooden ammunition boxes. I have recently heard whispers that Andre will be releasing a new shape and size of the TNT that uses the same, magnificent blend of the original. Make sure to check in to the Good Fellas’ website to stay up to date on these rumors. Also remember to follow us on Twitter ( @goodfellascigar ) for more updates on whats happening in the awesome world of cigars.

Brickhouse has announced another shape for its bargain cigar line…

The Brickhouse cigar brand has taken the cigar community by storm in the recent months; not only are they extremely affordable, they also received No. 17 cigar of the year by Cigar Aficionado. With a majority of their line being priced under $9 ( in the highly taxed state of Minnesota) these are smokes that you can not only enjoy, but your wallet can enjoy them as well. J.C. Newman Cigar Co. will be unveiling the Brick House Short Torp, which is a 51/2 x 52 mini pyramid, at the International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers (IPCPR) trade show. Once these bad boys hit the shelves, bargain shoppers will have a gem of a cigar to be proud of again.
