Marco V to debut its first Nation Cigar Lounge & Havana Cigar

by GoodFellasCigars

Marco V will debut its first nationally branded lounge at 2277 West 7th Street in St. Paul Minnesota just a hop and skip away from the bustling Xcel Energy Center.

The Marco V lounge will be located in a historic building built in 1885 which will be a showcase to the Marco V brand.  As such it will present the complete family of Marco V and M. Vito cigars along with complimentary Macro V Dom Coffee. If that is isn’t enough frequent tastings of Marco V Port crafted by Chateau St. Croix Winery and Vineyard. Inside, literature on Marco V products and the business, a premium cigar locker, will be surrounded by contemporary art adorning the walls.

This all in sum makes for a luxurious and very comfortable area to enjoy a good cigar like any Marco V and in the end what aficionado could ask for more?

To celebrate this milestone Marco V will be throwing a launch party to christen the lounge and debut the new Marco V Marco V Havana Box Pressed Robusto. The party starts at 7:30 and just to entice you, everyone who comes will receive a complimentary Marco V Havana Box Pressed Cigar.

The event will be catered by Eagle Street Bar and Grille and complimentary tastings of our Marco V Vintage Port will be offered.

This will be a private event and an invitation will be required. If you are interested in partaking in the event please call (651) 528-8676 as soon as possible for there is limited space.

The members of the crew of Good Fellas Cigars will be in attendance and so we Look forward to seeing you there.

And If you are unable to join us do not fret, just come visit the lounge at your leisure and enjoy and enjoy a Marco V Cigar or two.

Viaje TNT 2011

by GoodFellasCigars

Wrapper: Nicaraguan Sungrown Corojo 99

Binder: Nicaraguan

Filler: Nicaraguan

Shape: Double Robusto

Size: 6 1/4 x 54

Country: Honduras

Production: 50 boxes of 75 cigars

Cigar starts off with a closed foot and an extremely long pigtail hence looking like a piece of TNT. It just so happens that I have a strange affection for closed foots. As soon as I lit it up I noticed a strong spice that was accompanied by a note of coffee that was exactly what I look for in a cigar. Once I was about an inch in, the spice began to mellow out while still retaining the most prominent flavor note of coffee. I also began to notice a undertone of earthiness that really complimented the spice leaving me with the impression that this will be a complex cigar. I soon began to pick up the smallest amount of sweetness that was there just enough for me to notice it. These flavors remained until I reached the second half to the second third. The TNT has had a consistently tight burn while producing large amounts of smoke. I think I have fallen in love…  I began to notice a change in flavors into the second third; coffee had come back into the smoke along with a genuine tobacco flavor that really got me excited. As I progressed through this cigar I noticed that the spice was really mellowing out which was a nice change of pace compared to the beginning being so spicy. I was smoking this cigar with a nice medium coffee roasted by a local company by the name of Roastery 7, which really paired well with this cigar. In the final third I began to notice a slight nuttiness along with the spice regaining its territory as a key flavor. The spice and nuttiness along with a subtle hint of coffee remained throughout the rest of the smoke. I never had to touch up this cigar, let alone even think about touching it up. If you are able to get your hands on one of these, I highly recommend grabbing as many as you can before their gone.

Punch Uppercut Grand Corona

by GoodFellasCigars

Wrapper: Ecuadorian Sumatra

Binder: Nicaragua

Filler: Ometepe Nicaraguan

Country: Honduras

Size: 6. x 45

Shape: Grand Corona

The Punch Uppercut blend was created after Punch employees read through hundreds of surveys of “favorite” flavor profiles in cigars. After narrowing it down to the most popular flavors, Punch went to work on creating this exquisite cigar. First and foremost this cigar is a very reasonably priced cigar which is why it caught my eye. After the initial light I instantly began to pick up on a slight sweetness as well as notes of coffee. The burn remained extremely consistent throughout the entire smoke. Once the second third came I began to notice a spice that was somewhat sweet in a way, the finish was very long with a nice tobacco flavor. As I reached the final third of the cigar I began to hope that it didnt become bitter like so many cigars do. The Uppercut was far from turning bitter; it remained sweet and savory all the way until the end without ever needing a touch up on the edges or any flaws in the wrapper. If you happen to see one of these on the shelves in your local shop, make sure to pick one up, or a whole box. I will definitely continue to smoke these cigars.

Rocky Patel Connecticut Churchill

by GoodFellasCigars

Wrapper: Connecticut

Binder: Honduran

Filler: Honduran

Shape: Churchill

Size: 7 x 48

Country: Honduras

Looking for something thats affordable but, compares to a slightly mid range pricey stick? Well, the mild Rocky Patel Connecticut might be the cigar for you. This cigar is firm to the touch and the pre-light draw is very smooth and a tad airy. The wrapper had a small amount of light veins upon it and had a great make-up that made for a great look on the cigar. Pre-light flavor was a smooth cedar with very mild tobacco. The initial draw had a great amount of smoke that gave a nice aroma of light tobacco and I got flavors of almond and a toasty flavor like ground up coffee beans. The first third had the initial light flavors along with a mild earth tone and just before transfering into the second third the smoke becomes more creamy and voluminous in the amount given off. The second third the cedar and earth almost completely vanished but, the warm, toasty flavor was still there with a mild tobacco flavor. A slight pepper peaked in a went away and as for the burn it was flawless with no touch ups needed. The last third and finish remained the same as before with the nuttiness coming back a bit and I saw stop just under the 1/4th mark unless you like a harsh taste in your smoke. The ash throughout the smoke was firm and could remain up to an inch without falling off. Overall this cigar is for someone looking for a decently cheap stick with mild in flavor and complexity. Also one that enjoys a nice, simple Connecticut wrapper smoke that is a everyday stick I consider.
