Skull and Bones Weapon of Mass Destruction

by GoodFellasCigars

Wrapper: Nicaraguan

Filler: Nicaraguan

Binder: Nicaraguan

Country: Nicaragua

Size: WMD

Our story starts out with a nuclear explosion accompanied by a mushroom cloud with the aftershock setting off an avalanche coming right for you while you are skiing on expert terrain. Oh, and did I mention that you never skied before? To even survive you have to be a world class skier. Well image all that combined into a small but cigar labeled by a red skull and bones. Well short story short beginners should not take on the Viaje Skull and Bones Weapon of Mass Destruction (WMD). Just don’t do it. instead go for the San Cristobal Selección Del Sol a medium yet smooth cigar.

If you have taken the challenge to take on this insane cigar here is what to expect. This is the strongest cigar we have come across so far and we’re guessing that we will not come across another that compares for quite some time. This WMD has flavors of intense spice and tobacco with hints of black liquorish especially in the finish. The draw is good giving off a respectable amount of smoke. The ash is dark and flaky. The construction is wonderful but, a down side is the uneven burn.  The first and second third is consistent and the last third becomes slightly harsh due to the heat from the burn. Stop smoking whenever you have had enough of getting your ass kicked.

Diamond Crown Maximus

by GoodFellasCigars

Wrapper: Ecuadorian El Bajo Sun Grown

Binder: Dominican Republic

Filler: Dominican Republic

Country: Dominican Republic

The Diamond Crown Maximus is a rare and often hard to find full-bodied cigar that is made by JC Newman the same makers of Brick House and Quorum. As for the Diamond Crown line itself it was released in the early 1990′s to celebrate the 100th anniversary of JC Newman cigars. This cigar took a total of three years to perfect it’s blend and comes in either 5-packs or in 20 cigars that form the letter ‘M’. The secret to the Diamond Crown Maximus is the dark El Bajo Sun Grown wrapper that encloses aged and cured Dominican tobaccos. This is a well packed cigar with a little resistance in the draw that wasn’t too bad and as for the burn it was a little jagged along the way that needed touch ups. The initial flavor of the draw had earthy tones and the first third had a bit of pepper and a hint of sweet cocoa. In entering the second third of the cigar notes of almond and coffee came into play. As for the finish the nut and cocoa went away and more coffee and earthy flavors came on with a slight spice still. This is a good rare treat for the savvy afficiendo that wants something different from the norm.

Treat Yourself!

Nick’s Sticks Maduro

by GoodFellasCigars

Wrapper: Nicaraguan

Binder: Nicaraguan

Filler: Nicaraguan

Country: Nicaragua

If your looking for a great everyday, budget smoke look no further Nick’s Sticks will have you covered. Grown on the trusted farms of the Perdomo Family in the fertile Jalapa Valley of Nicaragua, these cigars have a dark, oily, triple-fermented Nicaraguan Maduro wrapper that encloses a Cuban-seed binder and filler. This is a medium to full-bodied cigar with an easy draw and an initial taste of pepper and an earthy flavor right after that. The first third of this cigar was a little harsh but, just before the second third of the cigar a hint of sweetness came on. By hitting the second third of the cigar the harshness went away then the sweetness became more clear with the flavors of cedar and chocolate came on still mixed with the earth and pepper flavor which made a small hint of a cinnamon. Finally the finish of this cigar overall stayed the same as the second third with the pepper dying down slightly but, not completely. Overall, Nick’s Sticks Maduro had a harsh start but it began to come together the farther I got down. This smoke has a great burn and a some what consistent  flavor throughout that I would recommended if you are on a budget and want a great everyday smoke.
