The Montecristo #1 is a medium to full-bodied smoke that is made from a Connecticut Shade wrapper which surrounds a Dominican binder and filler. The initial draw of this stick was smooth with the burn really never having any problems all the way through. The first taste was mild, light, aged tobacco and leathery notes with a hint of salt. About half way through there were very light flavors of coffee and the finish had a light earthy tone to it. Overall this cigar was blandish but, don’t let that turn you off. This cigar is for more of a novice or a person that likes a smoke with a even burn, consistent flavor throughout that doesn’t throw them in a different direction, and that is more for the flavor of aged tobacco.
