Cuban cigar officials have just announced the names of this year’s trio of Cuban Edición Limitadas. Cuba broke the news at the start of the world’s largest cigar festival, Festival del Habano. The first of the three new cigars is The Cohiba 1966 Edición Limitada which is meant to celebrate Cohiba’s 45th anniversary. It has a 52 ring gauge and is 6.5 inches long which resembles the Behike BHK 52 and has a shape named cañonazo. Originally Cohibas were available to the Cuban government officials for their personal use and for diplomatic gifts. The last of the two highly anticipated cigars are the Ramon Allones Allones Extra and Hoyo de Monterrey Short Hoyo Piramides. The Ramon is 5.5 inches long and a gauge of 44 and the Hoyo had a 46 ring figurado and is 5 1/3 inches long. These cigars are poised to to be the stars of the cigar world especially the Cohiba 1966 Edición Limitada. These cigars will be released later this year around the world except of course in the Untied States. If you happen to take a trip out of the US it will be worth your while to get your hands on one of these cigars when they are released.
