The Tatuaje Veruco Tubos has been overlooked by many due to the release of the Tatuaje Black. This has caused many to miss out on one of the best Tatuaje’s I have smoked in my days. The Veruco Tubos has a gorgeous, dark, veiny wrapper with a sweet tobacco aroma. With the initial light you will notice that it is not as spicy as your typical Nicaraguan Tatuaje, you pick up a smooth earthiness with a hint of cedar. On the finish it gives a slight pepper hint on the back of the palate. Once into the second half of the cigar, a bit of roasted almond comes into play along with some spice that picks up throughout the last half. In the final third of the cigar a more pronounced pink peppercorn kick begins to pick up in the cigar as well as a slight note of Guatemalan coffee. The end of the smoke picks up into that powerful spice that you know and love while remaining medium in strength.
Overall the Tatuaje Verocu Tubos was what I consider to be a contender for being one of the best blends from the Tatuaje line. A consistent, perfect draw throughout the entire smoke along with a razor sharp burn made this out to be thoroughly enjoyable. If you are in your local cigar shop, make sure to pick one of these up if they are available.
